Dear Traveler, Lately I've been thinking about public spaces, especially the piazzas and great city squares where people come together. In the USA we've got Times Square in NYC — bright as day deep into the night — a colorful explosion of commercial come-ons. And all across America, shopping malls serve as pedestrian magnets, ringed with parking lots. In Europe, the piazza is where communities come together in all their diversity — a multi-generational celebration of local life woven into the peoples' DNA.
