| Hi European travelers! Two days ago I got back from spending 16 days researching accessibility in Scandinavia. It was a great success consisting of 7 countries, visits to 25 hotels, and 2000 photos! Stay tuned into these newsletters...we'll be launching a variety of accessible travel services in the Baltic region in the coming months. While I was traveling, I experienced confirmation of my Top 10 Europe Disabled Travel Tips. Here are a few examples: Tip #2 - Book hotels far in advance We spent 3 days in Amsterdam and stayed in a hotel with a "Sky Lounge" with magnificent views over the city. It made for a relaxing place to end each day! We booked about 4 months in advance and it was much cheaper than other nearby hotels. Roll-in shower hotels with great views and cheap prices sell out early. Book far in advance!  Tip #3 - Your accessible guided tours will likely be the best memories that you have We took 7 accessible guided tours on our trip and they were some of my favorite experiences. There was, however, a noticeable difference in the quality of the tours. It was quite obvious that the tour guides who had professional certification were far more knowledgeable with more interesting stories to tell! In the future, Sage Traveling will only be using professionally certified guides. Tip #6 - Figure out your public transportation options In Stockholm, we used a hop-on, hop-off bus, a ferry, and a taxi to visit the city in one day. It was complicated but was also the most efficient use of our time. In Amsterdam, everything I read said the tram system was accessible, but we found big differences between the tram stations. Be sure to figure out public transportation accessibility before your trip! Some Amsterdam tram stations involve small steps and others involve large steps.
