Our tours have always been about maximizing experiences, not just sightseeing. And for me, the launch of each new season always stirs up memories of tours I've taken as a tour member.
This past summer it was the Best of Scotland tour, and the fun we had with sheepdogs and their pups. The year before I enjoyed the Best of Turkey tour, and was enthralled at how easy it was to be part of the neighborhood scene over a backgammon board in a tea house. Before that, I tagged along on an Athens & the Heart of Greece tour, and found myself becoming a connoisseur of olives and looking at the sunset through my ouzo glass. And, before that, on our Village Italy tour, I got good at appreciating how locals savor the sounds of their hometown bell towers. As I was a tour member, all these vivid travel moments come with associated memories of the wonderful groups I traveled with. (I love enjoying Europe with the kinds of people who take our tours.)
