Dear settachai,

Special Note: There are still spots left on the Accessible Group Cruise in September 2014.  It's 13 nights on the gorgeous Celebrity Equinox going from Venice to Barcelona. There are 8 fully-accessible shore excursions to visit ancient ruins, breathtaking scenery, world-class art, and exquisite local cuisine! And I'll be escorting the group to make sure everything runs smoothly!  Cabins start getting released next Thursday, so reserve your spot now!

Hello fellow European travelers!  For many of our disabled clients visiting Europe, one of the first questions that they have surrounds the long flight from North America, Australia, South Africa, etc... to Europe.  With a 10+ hour flight, they wonder...

  • "How will I get to my seat on the plane?"
  • "What if there are stairs to get onto the plane?"
  • "How will I get to the bathroom on the plane?"
  • "Is the plane bathroom easy for me to maneuver in?"

I use a wheelchair full-time and I've flown on numerous long flights so I can assure you that it's entirely doable!  The flight staff will use a narrow wheelchair they call an "aisle chair" to bring you to your seat while boarding.  They can also use an on-board aisle chair to bring you to a slightly larger bathroom during the flight.  To learn all about flying with a disability, check out www.sagetraveling.com/plane

John Sage in bulkhead seating

Often I like to sit in "bulk head" (the first row behind

business class) because there is more leg room and

people don't have to climb over me. Note that the armrest

does not raise so it can be a difficult transfer!

If you'd like a worry-free, fully-accessible vacation, we would be happy to help! Please email donnaj@sagetraveling.com for Southern Europe and daniellep@sagetraveling.com for Northern Europe.
